The Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) has partnered with the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) to add 94 issues of Science Dimension to Canadiana. Issues run from the publication’s beginning in 1969 until 1984, and document scientific research undertaken by the NRC and by scientists across Canada.
Science Dimension is a fascinating resource for those studying the history of science, health, and engineering developments in Canada, as well as for science communicators. Published bilingually in English and French, it features vibrant photographs, illustrations, and diagrams alongside articles chronicling the development of innovations like plant-based meat substitutes, machine translation, the Canadarm, and much more.
This is CRKN’s first digitization project with the NRC, which became an Associate Member of CRKN in 2024. We are grateful to the NRC for their collaboration on this exciting collection, which expands the range of historical scientific materials available on Canadiana.
